Highland Pride hosts an annual Memorial Day Service at the Highland Cemetery.
After opening remarks, all veterans present are recognized for their service, a prayer is given, and guests are treated to musical performances. An invited guest speaker provides remarks on the importance of Memorial Day
We were pleased to welcome over 100 guests, volunteers, and participants to the 2022 Memorial Day Service. Strong winds posed a challenge, especially for posed photos, but we were able to capture some wonderful smiles.

Guests are greeted with a flag, a homemade cinnamon roll and drink, as well as an opportunity to view the Memorial Table. Everyone is invited to bring a picture, medal, or other memorial along with a brief description to commemorate a deceased member of their family who had served in our military.
At the conclusion of the speaker's presentation, the crowd adjourns to the gazebo area where they watch as they flag is lowered to half-staff. They then join in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the "Star Spangled Banner." The crowd stands in reverence at the American Legion Color Guard's gun salute. The service is closed by the playing of "Taps."
